Jim and Nancy have always been passionate about solving problems. From finding the best cup of coffee in Orange to fixing odd things around the house, they love helping those around them. Their drive to grow and improve has always been a guiding force.

Jim grew up in a family of IBM’ers and spent his childhood tinkering and woodworking. After high school, he worked at General Dynamics and became the youngest journeyman pipe fitter in Connecticut. Jim and Nancy met, started a family, and moved to Central Virginia in the 90s, bringing their construction company with them. Over the years, Jim honed his skills as a carpenter and tradesman. In the late 90s, Jim pursued his MBA while continuing to refine his design talents. He found joy in the unique challenges of remodeling and used his business acumen, design skills, and Master Carpentry expertise to open the Design Center.

Over the past thirty-plus years, the company has evolved significantly. Jim and Nancy recognized the importance for homeowners to experience and choose the materials for their homes during the dream phase. The relaxed environment and personal attention help create realistic plans that showcase the quality of our craftspeople and products.
